Well-being in Quarantine
As this COVID-19 is spreading across the world, i believe it is making us more anxious.
This lockdown has brought many changes in our lifestyles. People are getting bored, they don't have anything to do. They can't go out. Some people are worried that they're not doing anything special in this time period
But it's something different for me.This is the most productive i have been in years. Usually I'm prone to hugely depressive slumps even without a world pandemic is going on.
I don't wanna talk about how to use your time wisely or get proficient at a new skill, blah blah blah. I'm just here to say whatever you're doing to keep your brain and heart happy, do it.
Due to this quarantine, I'm learning that my lack of balance and happiness was owed to a cycle of a constant college and food routine followed by endless engagement with social media (which also leads to insomnia and irritated behaviour)
Now I'm with my loved ones, my brain suddenly feels lighter, fresher and unsuffocated. I'm reading my fav stuff, writing, thinking and most importantly SLEEPING. Finally I'm having a life that allows me to decompress rather that putting immense pressure on me( i recognise this is owed to an immense amount of privilege).
So If you can manage it, try to do something what you love to do as a small step towards mental engagement and health. I strongly believe that the way we think, the way we feel shows our state of well- being. So it might be an important step towards taking care of ourselves.
This lockdown will definitely teach us what's actually needed for a happy life.
